Sean Long mightn't be a bad target for them. It could well be a good fit for him too.

Wonder with us decimated with injuries we may dabble in the market soon.. could be a write off this season before it’s started

No point signing anyone for a position we wouldn't otherwise be looking to strengthen. Only at Fullback have we lost our first choice player for the season, and his replacement is only missing for a few weeks. I wouldn't sign any halfbacks unless it means someone leaving now in the revolving door. Then there's all the arguments about affordability...

Think we just have to suck it up for a bit.

Agree. Time to grin and bear it. On the bright side we may have a lot of our players back by the time we will actually get the chance to go to a game again. That will feel like winning the league in itself.

Could look at loans, but who would be available at short term that would be of the right quality?

More likely to continue with the kids and see how they deal with the step up. It worked out well in 2001/2002

It may, but we are stuck with it. Loan players unlikely to be any better than the kids.

I agree with Agar in that the GF isn`t won or lost in April/May.
But we could find ourselves cast adrift at the bottom of the League by the end of May leaving us with a hell of alot to do to get into the playoffs.
Not saying we can do much about it as it`s unfortunate we have had injuries to key players.

There’s nothing to be done other than tough it out and try to develop the youngsters. Next year was always likely to be more of a viable season than this one; the side is still underdone and lacking one or two players of real quality.

Two challenges this year: 1) reasonable performance in the league so we’re not distracted and 2) transfer and squad management. For me it’s absolutely critical that we get the right next couple of signings: with due respect to them some of the “stabilising” signings we have made are not going to take us to titles.
