 well, yes, so would I if your scenario bore any resemblance to the events that unfolded. I'm not in the habit of trawling for footage of fatal sporting injury but if any of the tackles resulting in ones you've cited bore serious similarity to any seen on Friday then you may have a point.
The shoulder charge that sadly resulted in the death of Ackerman was very similar to the one that resulted in Hurrell's red card, apart from Ackerman was carrying the ball at the time.
The incidents I mentioned all happened on Friday night. The harassment of the players and coaching staff was captured on Sky TV, as well as Leeds Rhinos 'behind the scenes' footage, and of course on social media.
The incidents outside the ground have been heavily reported on social media, including one big-brain Saints fan bragging of "filling in" a Leeds fan on Twitter. Numerous people have commented about lodging complaints with St Helens, but I imagine the club, the RFL and IMG will make a combined effort to sweep them under the rug.

Haven't seen the Ackerman one but given Myler was only shaken up you'd tend to think there was a massive element of awful luck involved.
Harassment of players and Rohan, tick, seen the footage.
Assaults on fans outside the ground. Didn't see them and don't do social media but clearly that's out of order. Hadn't realised things had reached this level when making original comments.

Let’s not go OTT about the tackles though. Been punished and dealt with. This is s brutal sport and you simply can’t stop the huge impacts and mistimed tackles. It’s inevitable when people get tired. Hurrell was as gassed as I’ve ever seen as an RL player and he certainly will not have wanted to seriously injure Myler.
I think the whole St Helens hubris is a bit sickening tbh.
This Saints side is nowhere near the 'best' RL side.
Wigan from 1996 - better Bulls from 1999 - better Saints from 2006 - better Leeds from 2007-2012 - better
We cannot forget that the St Helens side right now, is playing in a league with FAR less competition, intensity and bottom line, quality - than it was 10-20 years ago.
Saints have been the best of a bad bunch for the last 5 years, for me, that is what it boils down to.
Undoubtably they have decent players, but Roby best hooker in SL ever? Really? Welsby the turnstile and Dodd bound for the NRL? Would any players from the current Saints side get in the Saints side from 2006?
Its a no from me to any of those questions.
St Helens lack any kind of class. Makinson is a prime example after last years GF. Their fans comments about it being 'Leeds' cup final' etc Multiple excuses for losing on Friday (Jet Lag, too may games blah blah) - just take it on the chin.
Is there any wonder wanted them to lose to Penrith (who are a shadow of THEIR former selves - missing 4 players from THEIR Grand Final side and subsequently lost to of all sides, the Broncos at the weekend). A legend in their own lunchtime.
Name me a better hooker than James Roby in the superleague era then as Dodds and Welsby yl they would have a lot of NRL clubs chasing them and lets see where your lot come the end of the season

Stupid comparing sides of different era’s. Saints have been the best for last 4 years though competition been very weak imho. Roby has been the best by a mile. Can do it all and his longevity is remarkable. Not possible to replace him though, and that could be your issue… Welsby and Dodd are good players, but overhyped imho….
Roby is the best hooker in SL, and Welsby is a real talent. Dodds looks promising, and lets hope he goes more Lomax than Gaskell as he develops.
The bans are about right IMO. Hurrell's was bad but due to fatigue not bad intent, the others were late hits on playmakers. Walters probably saved from a ban because the contact wasn't high. I'm glad those late hits are being penalised - pressuring playmakers is fine, but late hits need to be stamped out. If you didn't know better you might think late shots on playmakers was a deliberate Sts tactic....
We're both lucky it isn't last year's disciplinary - that would have seen double the bans for all concerned and two for Walters as well.
I just read through the redvee thread. Some reasonable posters on there to be fair who are only upset about the Walters no penalty. But some of the stuff spouted is genuinely absurd. There was even someone who claimed that Myler saw Hurrell coming and turned his head to make sure the contact looked worse than it was. Yes, that's exactly how any rational person would react when an 18 stone guy launches themselves at them - "I'd better make sure this catches me on the chin so I get a penalty. I'll be fine and will stay down to milk it."
On a serious note I hope someone has a word with Wilkin. He called Myler a cheat before he could have seen the replay, and didn't properly back down even after it. The game doesn't need inflammatory guff like that from commentators.

You lot have got short memories. Kieron Cunningham kept Roby out of the starting hooker position until he retired from playing. He wouldn't have kept Roby out if the hooker role for 6 seasons, and score about a third more tries (in less games), featured in the Super League Dream Team more times, and voted in as hooker for the "Greatest Ever Super League Team" if Roby was better.
The 2006 St Helens team would destroy the current one. I don't know where people get that the current team is the greatest Super League or Saints team ever. They looked clueless without Roby's leadership when things started to go wrong on Friday.

Spot on OWL. Wilkin immediately jumped on Myler suggesting he only stayed down so it would get looked at. Barrie Mac pulled him up on it after seeing a replay. Wilkin mumbled away but still suggested that players are only staying down so incidents get looked at. Ridiculous. Incidents should always get looked at to see if there is foul play!
Wilkin is a massive closet Strictly fan and is obviously 'Team Helen'....
