I have seen and read and noted all the enthusiasm for signing Trueman. But is he really that good or is it that there are very few quality British no.6’s …..full stop. I feel the latter and would prefer a more cautious approach. No point on spending big Bucks for a ‘good’ player. We should reserve such expenditure for simply the best. Looking in the medium term we also need a good 7 ……

I wouldn't be too concerned about him being recruited by an NRL team. English half backs are not exactly a boom export at the moment. George Williams has done well, but homesickness has curtailed his stay as it seems to with a lot of our lads. If I was an Aussie club on the scout I'd be looking at forwards. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Oledzki attract some interest.

There's a dearth of halfbacks is Aus too, to be fair.

Really? Their not quite good enoughs (Austin, Sezer, Hastings) routinely come over here and stand out in our comp. Shaun Wane would kill for such a dearth.

Yep, having significantly enhanced their reputations in our comp. Can you imagine what kind of havoc a real top line Aussie half would wreak in SL? Doesn't bear thinking about, unless of course they were trotting out at HQ.

I reckon Leeds have always been interested in top English talent as a preference, we are desperate for a leading 6 and that's why I'm sure we'll have a good punt for Trueman.

Is he the finished article? Course not. Not sure he is quite in the Harris class either but he is a similar mould in terms of profile.

From what I've seen he looks very good. Maybe we retain McLelland with the intention of having the two of them partner up longer term. McLelland might be a good foil at 7 if Trueman plays 6.

Kyle Feldt has always been a player I've rated, we were linked with him a year or two ago.

I'd love to see us announce contract extension for Holroyd. I really want us to keep those two props together at the club for the foreseeable.

I don't know which FBs might be available from SL or NRL - I still reckon someone with pace who could cover wing. That means that if Walker makes full recovery (fingers crossed), we have options to play the new signing in place of T Briscoe or to cover injury.

Pack-wise, honestly I'd go for someone like Taupau who will keep the whack up down the middle and complement Holroyd and Oledski in the direct stuff.

You mean like James Maloney? Sezer was also a grand finalist in the season before he came over. Yet they've not been that good over here.
