I think it’s more of the fact he will be wanting to cement that centre spot down now and at Leeds we have Newman, L Sutcliffe, Edwards, Hall all contracted for 2022. Going to castleford he would become a regular with the players that are leaving. Whilst Alex is a very good talent, he isn’t going to displace Newman or Sutcliffe. Edwards is hugely rated at Leeds too.

I feel expect him to thrive at castleford.

I would like to see A Sutcliffe given a run of games in our 2nd row before he is allowed to leave. He hits hard in defence and would add some pace to our pack. He is unproven at SL level but has shown enough to be given a chance imo.

I'd be chuffed. With shenton retiring and peanut following Powell, there's a 2 spots for grabs. Centre is a postion that you want a centre. None of this square pegs malarkey.

The thing is when you look at Walters, Gannon and some others coming through in the back row, does A Sutcliffe really seem likely?

Centre looks quite well covered too, especially if Edwards ends up coming through there.

At his age he now needs to be playing each week. We cannot offer him that.

I’d say he offers more than mellor and Martin at the moment in terms of reliability. Long term potential behind Gannon and Walters.
