Nothing to do with insecurity. Nothing to do with how good Amor is/isn't. And it's certainly nothing to do with Paul King!? ( :? )

He's our player, and even if it only gives you 0.1% more of an advantage, it's 0.1% of an advantage that you simply do not need to have.

How is he your player, you chose to loan him out we didn't make you, thus whilst he is on loan he is ours. Don't loan players out if you don't want to follow the rules. Or don't stockpile players you either can't or won't use.

What you are basically saying is that Leeds should buy more players than they need and if they don't need them just let them rot in the reserves. Assuming Hetherington has a somewhat more open mind I assume he won't think like that in which case you're always likely to come up against either players you have loaned out or sold. That's how RL works.

As for your percentages thing, come on that's what RL is all about - it's what makes it fun and a bit unpredictable. Also what happens if Amor has a stinker but the player that would of taken his place has the game of his life - how does that stack up?

Yes there are limitations to the loan system, it's not perfect - but you're either in it or you are not - you can't use it when it suits you

Is it just me that thinks it would have been sensible, given the current run of form/luck/results, to leave Wakefield with as weak a team as possible this week?

I mean, don't get me wrong, Amor is no world beater, but it doesn't make any sense to me to give them an extra forward when we're short of weight in the pack as it is and it's them we're playing?!

How easy would it have been to say, "We're short this week as you know, we might be able to re-loan him out when we have people back but it'll be next week at the earliest!" Even if we didn't play him, let him train with us this week and Wakefield wouldn't have him.

I am sure people will put me straight but with the loan system I think players cannot be recalled within the first month. If we did as suggested and called him back then re loan him the following week would the month no recall start again?

Leeds Rugby Ltd is a business. A business' sole purpose is to make money.

Imagine for a second that you run a company supplying Teddy Bears. You're doing pretty well, winning the prestigious "Teddy Manufacturer of the Year" award for 3 years in a row! Anyway, you're massively overstaffed, but don't really want to sack someone cos Jim is close to retirement.

The Teddy Bear company down the road (who's not doing so well, and are about to have to close down!) says... "We're really short staffed, and struggling to fulfil orders can we borrow Mark, and not only will we pay his wage, we'll also give you a bit of cash to say thanks!". You'd think to yourself, well, Mark is only really sweeping the floors here, it would be good if he got to actually make a few Teddies before Jim retires, and the cash would help! Sure... off you go Mark!.

Then... Disney call... It's a big order!! "We need a company who's able to supply us with 10,000 Teddies."

Now, as a businessman, you know the little factory down the road cannot possibly even begin to compete with you to win that order, after all, you won "Teddy Manufacturer of the Year" in '07, '08 & '09, and they've won nothing!

BUT...

What if, even though you're bigger, and better, and still had the capability to supply the 10,000 teddies, during the production a machine gets a fault, then you have a power cut, and Jim's dog dies so his mind isn't on the job, then the van gets a flat tyre, and the stuffing you've ordered isn't what it was supposed to be and through no real fault of your own the rival company wins the Disney contract.

Would Mark have made any difference to any of that? No, he wouldn't have fixed the machine, or stopped a power cut, or saved Jim's dog, or repaired the tyre, in fact, he'd probably be still just sweeping your floors, but because they had that extra pair of hands that just made them that little bit more able to compete. Just having what you considered "only a floor sweeper" to help them pack a few boxes, meant the could just about muster the 10,000 teddies together in time to compete with your big arrogant corporation. Gutted.

In the 9 years or so I've been lurking on this forum, this is possibly the most ridiculous thing I have ever read :D Saying that, I do appreciate the effort you've put into this posting (and many others), so I doth my cap in your direction.

I think your point is bonkers and pretty incidental with regards to Leeds' success/failure this coming season, so why I'm biting on this for a 3rd time, I don't know?!

So with that, I'm out

"Teddy Manufacturer of the Year"

You could have chosen a Supermarket....an Electricians...plumbers - any day to day business but instead you choose a teddy bear manufacturers PMSL.

Remarkable indeed.

Back onto the subject I don't know what the fuss is all about. I'm happy he is playing for Wakefield and I'm happy we will see him tested against a good pack. If Leeds lose to Wakefield it will not be because Amor was playing against us...on paper Leeds should put 40 past Wakefield so if we lose it will be nobodys fault apart from the Leeds matchday squad.

in football it's in the laws a player cannot play against his parent club. if this was brought in it would end all debate.

Whatever the rights or wrongs, I'm looking forward to seeing him against us. To see what he can produce.

There may be more fuel on this fire if he punches holes all over Kirke and Cross.

 It was longer than that to start with. I chopped a whole section out and culled the rest down to save myself the ridicule. ;)
