Re: Time for a new coach : Sat Oct 02, 2021 7:13 pm
Been thinking about this myself and personally I’m happy with what Agar has done at the club. He’s took us to challenge cup final win and then the season after a semi final for OT.

I think that we will see him move up to a different job in maybe a year or two. At that point, I wouldn’t be surprised if Danny McGuire comes back.

FFS no!
We've given enough old boys a job.
We need some fresh ideas not tales from the golden generation.

You have to wonder if the real reason Brodie cant get clients to attend is actually the rugby tho dont you?

The man had come in at a difficult time, he steadied the ship so to speak, done very well, but is at the limit of his coaching capabilities.
His game plan for the game last night against Saints was poor. After 6 years of trying to rebuild a team on the cheap, he is not the man to take us forward next season. He needs to be DOR,
Having a number of tickets in the Directors suite, I will not be renewing the seats next season. Simply I cannot find clients who want to come to Headingley to watch Leeds rugby. They don’t enjoy it anymore. While I will pick and choose my games, when I can’t get clients to come for a free evening with a meal and drink, it says a lot to me. Next season I will have a rest and will not renew my table of tickets..
I’ve had over 20 years of corporate entertainment, but these last few years we have lost direction and badly need new ideas

That’s the spirit! ;)

Are people happy to continue with Agar as head coach or do we feel that a new Aussie coach is the way forward.
I think that even though he is a decent Man he has no more to offer and we should recruit someone with new ideas.

We need a new coach because Leeds have been inconsistent under him.

Agar inherited a squad of de- motivated players of very average ability. We note have a fully motivated squad, that lacks quality in key positions. If we can pray Walker stays fit next year, somehow fix our atrocious dummy half distribution then no reason Agar can’t go and win something next year.....

We will not win anything with one out drives , we lack a Walmsley , a class centre and a winger plus a coach that can coach

Looking back, having instilled a better culture, Agar won over a lot of fans with a masterclass of wet weather rugby that dumped Wigan from a cup semi. I'm beginning to wonder whether there's much difference between that and his take on a masterclass of dry weather rugby.
