When I played rugby at amateur level, fathers of young children would be desperate to play just to get out of the house for a couple of hours.
But I guess that professional sport is very different. He would need to be at the club for a considerable amount of time during the week preparing for the fixture, and his time is better spent bonding with his child at home and helping his wife.

Few of us were saying that the effort performance was there v Hull and we’d come good. Agree was a worry vs Wire though as we were shocking for a season opener on Sky….
We looked dire against Warrington. We showed potential against Hull, and we brought home the goods against Saints. The amount of progress the team made over those three weeks shows there is something there, and the squad is not as weak as people think.
I still think we are defensively weak in the spine, and need a little more weight in the pack. But we are showing that we have several players who know where the try line is and how to get there.
