He could do that. But can you see GH paying him to do nothing for 2 years? If GH has agreed a fee for ZH if Cas want him on a permanent basis after next season, then unless ZH wanted to go to a club that offered Leeds more money for him, he'll end up at Cas. Can't see GH agreeing to a deal with Cas that he could live with and can't see him acting out of spite if it was bad for business

Leeds had to get rid , Hardaker has given us no choice , he will self destruct . Leeds gave him more chances than they should and he still could not behave . I have no doubt Leeds have lost out but no one was going to pay massive amounts for a liability . Cas will just hope he regains his form and keeps out of trouble for as long as possible . Anyone you talk to in the Ponte/Feth area will tell you he just can't behave

Sweet FA probably. I was right, Leeds have no leverage. The best they have managed to accomplish is shift him off the cap for a season.

I have to admire your positivity in the face of what is a mess for Leeds. We had the MOS not 12 months ago, now we have had to give (sorry, loan) him to Cas just so we don't have to pay his salary. Cas literally can't lose. Their squad was obviously not going to be added to so they had the cap space to take a gamble for 12 months. My guess is they will get "new Zak" the way Leeds did for a few months after his chastising post England debacle (right up until "Fag Gate"). Maybe he'll last a bit longer, who knows. But if he does meltdown later in the season he's straight back to us for 2018. Fantastic.
If he does recapture his best form, we all know he is the best FB in the league, and it will strongly suggest that there is a lack of man management capability at Leeds.

There is some ways it could troubling for Cas, especially if it does happen late in the season. They'll obviously be planning on how to fit him into their cap next season and some others might have to leave and they might also have to sell somebody to get the £160k, maybe Solomona to RU next season......what if they agree to that and at the eleventh hour the Hardaker deal goes all wonky. Also as pointed out, him together with Chase, can send Zak back but some damage could have already been done to the dressing room.

All outcomes remain possible. If McDermott stands down at the season's end - a scenario that'd surprise no-one - I suspect the slate could be wiped clean.
