Have you ever seen him play? His record in Origin is outstanding. Still a tremendous natural athlete who would stand out like a beacon in SL. I don’t think fullback would be much of a problem to him. Who would be ambitious?

Pearce, moylan, Taukeiaho, mau'u are all recent science fiction signings but have been done or rumoured. Vaughan as well and back in the day hurrell and merrin. Buderus too.

Yes, I have seen Gagai play several times this season. He's a shadow of his former self. I'm not suggesting he couldn't be OK for a year in the centres for Leeds, but I don't recall seeing him ever play full back.

I genuinely hope Leeds have more ambition than him and Clune.

He looked pretty good setting up two for Newcastle yesterday. Guess we'll have to agree to differ. Just think think ambition has to be tempered by an honest acceptance of economic reality. I would have said players like Gagai would be at the very top end of what is doable for any SL club.

He was a Full back as a junior, but can't say I've seen him play full back in the NRL. He'll also be 33 by the time the season starts

Gagai has 22 games for QLD in SOO, bags of experient and Australia caps - and can play wing, centre and FB.

Any suggestions of anyone better and achievable?

Buderus was 32 when he came to us and that went OK.
