So does Williams being confirmed to Canberra give Leeds a line to Aidan Sezer, potentially..?

If we were to sign Maloney or Sezer, I reckon our halves and back row are locked in.

Add a good prop (if we could offload Cuthbo and one or two other squad players) to partner Ava, and we have Ava, Holroyd, Oledski, the new signing and then one or two other squad players for injury.

Maybe a new winger to replace Handley. 3 signings and we've a truly competitive squad again.

Totally agree - i'd play Sammut over Williams any day.

Williams did very little to pull Wigan out of a hole at the start of the season - and if he cant marshall against the bottom of SL....

He play for the Mounties and be back with Toronto mid-2020


As Leeds fans we are well qualified to talk about awful halves having had to endure Lolohea and Myler for the last 6 months.

I guess a lot depends on the club's view on Myler and Mclelland. If they rate Mclelland then it makes sense to let Myler play out his contract.

Personally a Lui-Myler partnership doesn't scream top of the league, and looks poor compared to the top couple of sides.

Yes I don't think Lui is the answer to all our problems at half either.

I guess you could take a view that we retain Peteru at prop, he was playing pretty well before his injury.

Cuthbertson swapped out for a close-to-NRL-1st-grade halfback would be smart in my view.

Then again we could probably get a decent prop to replace Cuthbo; we need four high quality props to cover rotation and injuries, and the benchmark for starting props is Walmsley and Thompson...

We must have some more signings to come with the amount of cap becoming available, so let's hope KS pulls some good ones out of the hat.

Yeah agree with that summary. 3 good signings and we could be back in business. Though I suspect we may need another 9.

IMO Leeds wanted him badly and were even willing to pay a transfer fee to Salford in order to get him in for the remainder of the 2019 season plus for a further guaranteed 3 seasons beyond,But without an NRL release clause!

What happens if Hastings does get the call during pre season of 2021,How will Wigan deal with that at such a late time before the new season?
Or more to the point how would the Rhinos have dealt with this?

Perhaps Wigan fancied the gamble more than the Rhinos did and only time will tell.....Fantastic player though

Hastings is a good player,but far from fantastic and Leeds have done the right thing by not agreeing to any clause

Interesting comments from SMTM on the podcast tonight I thought. Didn’t think Money was Leeds-bound, but did think we were in for another half. Given some info on here about Gale, that makes me wonder.

He also thought we’d go for another winger.

was at the Leeds United game tonight and spoke to a relation of a current rhinos player who insisted we were after trueman. thought we would get him too.
