Its not just McGuire for some reason not many of our players are held in high regard by other teams fans, just start a thread on the VT about Sinfield, McGuire, Senior, Bailey, Smith etc and see how many positive replys you get, but despite carrying these players somehow we haven't done too bad over the past few years

Given the money probably won't have been much different to what he earned at Newcastle, did he derive greater satisfaction from playing for his hometown team and becoming a Geordie legend than he would have done picking up medals? I wonder whether Alan Smith got more satisfaction out of his time at Manchester United than he did playing for Leeds?

Plus I dont think Shearer would have been classed as any greater if he had been at Man U. Just think how poor Newcastle would hae been without his goals both which he scored and the heaps that he set up.
