After yet another unrecognisable performance is it safe to say Mc Clennan out?

We still have nearly the same 13 that 3 years ago would have blown that rather average bradford team off the park last night. Its as though McClennan is trying to get the team to play his style of rugby league which lets be honest aint working. Last night for example we threw the ball about like the leeds we know and twice bradford couldnt get near us.

I'm not impressed with the way Leeds are playing at the moment. OK the defence is good, everyone works together there but on attack, it is just individual stuff we rely on. We seem to wait for Burrow to find a gap, Webb to back up or an offload from Ali or JP!

I pose the question, what do Leeds do in training apart from weights and fitness!?

There is no cohesion and no dummy runners! That is why we lost to Saints and Manly (we lost to Bradford because of a dubious video ref though!)

And Smith never pinged Bradford in the exact same way at any time during the 80 minutes?

Not according to the Sky Sports coverage unless my ears were deceiving me when Clarke made the self same comment you've just made only with the boot firmly on the other foot.

:WALL: I think you are getting mixed up tvoc, with regards ref bashing and Leeds discipline.

The issue here, which you raised was about Leeds discipline, and the penalties conceeded. I agree it is a concern.

My point was what can the players do to stop a panalty been given, when it is clearly wrong. Whether the oppossition suffered the same fate is irrelevant. The fact is that all Leeds can do is play to the letter of the laws. Leeds got penalised for an offiside last night, that clearly was not offside. Therefore I ask again. Other than going back further than 12 metres which is stupid, what can the players do to stop that in the future?

And by the way tvoc. Your are wrong about what Phil Clarke mentioned incident. What he clearly stated was NOT that Bradford were not offisde, but that none of the offside players interfered with play. Well wuppydoo, that happens almost all occassions offsides are pulled.

Back on thread…

We have been poor all season but our fundamental 1 to 13 has barely changed since Smith left which would indicate our slump in form is down to the change in coaching personnel?

To call for Buley’s head on plate is a little premature to say the least – if (and it is a big IF) our form continues to dip through the remainder of the season then there may be issues with the current coaching staff that need addressing but we’re still second in the league even though we’re playing poorly.

No need to hit the panic button quite yet.

No disrespect to you at all, but I get sick of hearing that one. Had Huddersfield won by a bigger margin last night, we would have been 3rd. Had Cas beaten Wakey, and the Huddersfield thing happend we would have been 4th.

I doubt people saying we are second in league so no problem, would have quite the same opinion had that been the case.

How many people tipped Huddersfield to be challenging for a top two place at start of season? If you didn't then you should be concerned.

Clearly wrong in whose opinion, yours? What players can do is not infringe, unless what you are actually saying is that the referee is inventing penalties against Leeds? Leeds conceded a total of four penalties for offside over the 80 minutes, not all from line infringements IIRC. In addition there were another eight conceded including the cardinal sin of one for dissent. Why not analyse them as well and see if you can see any merit in those?

Semantics. Clarke couldn't see any justification for penalising Bradford for offside in exactly the same way as you're doing here.

I am not arguing with the others I am arguing with a spefiic incident which was wrong, when looking at the Leeds for and against penalties. I further pointed out that the same thing happend twice in the Hull KR game. Have you watched a rerun of the game? because if you haven't I invite you to watch that specific incident about 4 minutes into the second half. You clearly see where the play the ball is, and where Leeds are lined up by the lines on the pitch. Then feel free to comment.

No semantics at all. What Clarke said was poop. The majority of offside decisions you see given where it is the 10 metre defensive line, the person pulled for offside does not actually make the tackle or interfere with the play. That is a completely different scenario to pulling something offside for not 10 when on replay they are clearly 12 metres.

If we’d won last night we wouldn't be debating this point, if Smith had a pair of kahonies and didn’t have to go to the screen for every decision we would have won and if my aunt had a cock she’d be my uncle.

‘Ifs’ don’t make your league position points do.

If we were Bradford I’d have both hands on firmly on the panic button, plunging up and down for all I was worth but we’re not.

We are in second position – no worries, when we get to forth or fifth then maybe an eyebrow should be raised but until then – nothing to worry about.
