At the moment no - but the same could be said of Smith at certain times in his tenure - would you not agree - also Smith was never in a position where he lacked a natural right centre which even you must agree is a pretty crucial attacking position - you only have to look at Saints to see the importance of a quality right centre.
And what can be achieved without a left centre. Saints have one decent fill-in centre and one good one, much the same as Leeds do. The only difference is they are on opposite sides of the pitch.
Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.

Stop in now. A world class centre in both positions is essential before any team can think of silverware/ have you not been reading these boards lately?

A world class player in each position more like. otherwise we may as well not turn up

Two world class centres would be nice but I'd still settle for two international class if that isn't practical. At a pinch one international and one SL competent would be an improvement. Let's see how Lee Smith shapes up now if he can avoid those midgies.

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.
How have Saints strengthened? Who have they signed? They have signed a similar number of players to us. That's excuse making for your idol right there it is.
Not really - signing Puletua is a strengthening in my view maybe not in yours - do you think Saints would as effective if they had lost Gidley, Flannery and Graham?
I won't take your bet because I too believe that we will make the GF.
OK - McClennan is so bad a coach he will still get them to a GF - or is the players that are so good they will get there - could just have been the same under Smith
I think the players are good enough to mask the coaches limitations and come playoff time Bluey's rah rah style will be effective and lift the players.
You mean like Tony Smith did in 2005 :D
I am not the one indulging in knee jerk panics round here after a couple of April defeats.
You had written McClennan off in May 2008 after a couple of defeats - as I say pot and kettle once again - sadly for you much humble pie was required come October - I remember the thread well:D
I have, however, been the one to consistently give a fair and balanced critique of not only players but coaches alike. Coz I am well ace.
