Cartwright 1 match ban for dangerous contact.
They must have missed the punch thrown at Newman by the same player and the shoulder charge to Lisone by another Hull forward.
The lottery of the disciplinary committee continues.

What is your point? You can only beat what is in front of you. Take the win and enjoy it as much as you can, they are too rare to be taken lightly :)

The point is too many people are easily fooled , just the same as Blease coming out with the we tried to keep Martin but we are up to salary cap .

If we could not keep him then we can't afford to replace him with anyone better or any additional talent worthwhile so we will be in the same boat next season . What we have is rubbish and whilst we may have a better coach and a fitter side next season i am afraid there is a limit to how much you can improve this lot .

It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.

Re: RD 25 | Hull FC H : Mon Sep 09, 2024 5:25 pm
Good job there is actually a hell of a lot of cap space available then. A source I trust tells me we deliberately ran well under the cap last year (and this but less so) to try to claw back some of the losses we made and offset the costs we had as a result of COVID and the new stadium. Without the new sponsorship we would likely be doing the same again next year, but we’re now in much better shape.

I think you’re misinterpreting what he was saying

He was talking about the cap for the next few years, he may and hopefully will have earmarked what extra Martin wanted for someone else.

You just seem constantly negative with your view of the club, which is totally your right if you want to feel that way.

Not sure what more the club could do to appease some fans, they sacked the coach snd GH put someone else in place to run things.

Two things thst most on here wanted, and still all the negativity.

Hull were Very poor but I think the positive reflections on the game are about the much improved movement of the ball, and attacking shape. You can have games where that scoreline leaves you feeling flat still because the trys scored don't require much cohesion or sign of being able to build to the right areas of the field and playing from there. Though it might not be enough to beat Wigan or kr away I think the way we played not just the score, leaves reason to be positive.

A bitlike getting beaten by a big score you can lose by the same and still feel positive because the team available etc have got the most out of themselves.

I agree, the ball movement looked a lot better, we looked like we had worked on a more structured attacking style and there was the set play from the scrum that must have been worked on in training. This would not have been the case under Smith. Can we replicate it successfully against Wigan, we don’t have long to wait. My guess is tougher opposition makes everything that much harder therefore we will see more handling mistakes, ball lost in contact and we won’t see Lachie Miller skipping merrily down the wing after dancing around a few players. It’s was only a week before Hull that we didn’t have a single player who could catch a ball under pressure or find a gap through which to run, due to more competent opponents. That goes up another level on Friday, and that’s when I’ll happy if we can pull of a decent performance against better physical specimens that have something to play for.

We have just given Wigan a bit of a hiding and our record at their place is pretty good.

I agree the opposition made us look good. At least one of the passes to Edgell could have been intercepted and would have been by a team pressing up. the switch plays would have been hammered and I believe more ball would have been dropped with the opposition in our faces.

The play will need to be a lot more conservative this week and we will need a lot more from the forwards.

Fans are frustrated - years of under performing and low quality entertainment - what do you expect fans to be like. The squad is poor and it shows. Arthur will be a positive no doubt but unless you can increase the quality of the squad the impact of a high quality coach will be diminished. The club and its management allowed the players in this squad to be signed on longer contracts so who is to at fault here - the fans or the club's hierarchy? If the money for Martin is destined elsewhere in the squad that would be a dereliction of duty.

The only addition for 2025 is a 37 year old winger - is this really the best the club can do?

I appreciate for you the club can do no wrong and your deep inside view is the supporters should just accept whatever the club does. For most fans there is a reality check that says this is simply not good enough and there is a need to point the finger at those responsible.

Sorry this just isn't true, I was making a specific point about where we are now, the club has taken big steps with backroom appointments, the two biggest you could make (ones that the fans wanted) and yet there are still people moaning.

"The only addition for 2025 is a 37 year old winger - is this really the best the club can do?"

This is a bit bizarre, unless you seriously think we won't make anymore signings. Let's not repeat last year either when everyone was moaning about lack of signings when the current season hasn't even finished, we went on to make some decent signings.

I have never said the club can do no wrong, far from it, I could easily counter that with you think the club can do nothing right, which Im sure you would say isn't true.
