There’s more than one way to tell a player you do t want to re-sign them.

The Saints fans are still deeply traumatised by the five in a row so we need to be a little bit kind towards them.
On the contract, a segment of fans have been spinning how bargain basement the deal is, but that's come from them, nowhere else. If it helps them rationalise it, good for them.

Personally I think he just needs to get his head down, ignore the hype, and develop his game. Financial rewards will come in the fullness of time. At the moment he's a very talented young player who may or may not become international/world class standard. Does not need the pressure of the marquee tag.

Nah he’d have to be an established England international to be in the Marquee conversation.

He does have that potential but he isn’t there yet.

If he keeps his head on as you say, he won’t need to worry about the money over the course of his career. To be honest he’s one of a handful of English backs who might make a go of it in the NRL, although it’s been a graveyard for many.

Agree Jim. Not many of our backs make it in the NRL like the forwards do.
Their backs are more physical and athletic than ours generally.
Gildart has no chance unfortunately.
Hope Harry doesn't get tempted by an offer.....

Didn`t watch too much of the England France game today.
But the bits I watched I thought the French prop #10 looked quite good.
Could/would he be an option?
Or did the bits I miss show he wasn`t that good?
