Re: Fighting in the Leeds end. : Mon Oct 08, 2012 12:15 am
I was sat in the bottom tier of the Stretford end with the Warrington fans and went has a neutral, now before I get accused of trolling or saying all Leeds fans are all scum and thugs I don't think that all but I do think there are supporters that let you down, but I noticed some Rhino fans who I thought were just there to wind up Wire fans including a guy with a poney tale who every time you scored was just been a k*ob and was just trying to annoy wire fans and also I had two Leeds fans a kid and old fella infront of me who were doing fingers and the w*nker signs to the Warrington fans, I did notice Warrington and Leeds fans involved with fights but sadly thats been going on in the last few GF's now and the RFL and police need to start banning these people or if not stop selling alcohol in the ground and introducing segregation and just sell tickets to the two clubs in the GF which I don't want to see. All that said congratulations on the win it was deserved.

Banning alcohol won't do anything. Its the 6+hours of drinking beforehand which is responsible and the RFL can't do much about that.

Re: Fighting in the Leeds end. : Mon Oct 08, 2012 8:32 am
I was in the lower East Stand down below the eruption of violence. It looked really nasty. I was toying with the idea of bringing my 8 year old girl for her first big match experience, glad I didn't now though. It is the frist time we have gone into the allocated end and I don't think we will be back. Previously we have gone through the RFL for the tickets it the Alex Ferguson stand, but needed to do it on the cheap this year. Everyone around us was pretty drunk and it was annoying to listen to them as I tried to watch the game.
This is the first year I have not had a drop of alcohol and I found it much more enjoyable.

The kick off is at the right time. That night match is what makes the GF so great. Night time matches have so much more about them, so much more atmosphere and intenstity in the game.

Removing that just for the benefit of stopping alcholic dicks is just ridiculous.

The Challenge cup final was far worse, and that's an earlier kick off.

That depends on who you listen to. Frankly it seems to be a lottery as to whether someone's matchday experience is ruined by a p1ssed up idiot, regardless of whether it's CC or GF.

The CC is always a pish up

I also don't agree with this rubbish about Leeds fans, or Warrington fans, or Saints fans, etc. In my experience the trouble mainly flares from neutrals.

At the Challenge cup finals the neutrals always see it as their day rather than the finalists, and because of how great the rugby is the GF is also moving that way.

That fight in the east stand on Saturday, wasn't Leeds fans with Warrington, it was Wigan fans against Warrington.

In most other sports, finals are for the two teams involved. I'm not suggesting ban neutrals, that would be daft. But perhaps try and have RFL sold tickets around one area/stand, and the finalists in their own ends of the ground. Is that moving to segregation? who knows but it's better than the way it is going.

I should also add, I am using the word "nuetrals" here very loosly. Because seldom does a final occur with true neutrals. Especially in the case of Leeds, there is a clear jelousy from certain clubs fans that means whilst not a normal supporter of one club, they certainly become a supporter for that day.

Pointing the finger at neutrals is pretty ridiculious.

If the cap fits.

And for the record, that is not what I said. If you read it properly I said there is in the majority of occassions no true neutrals.

Hull Fc - a safe place in an unsafe world!

Re: Fighting in the Leeds end. : Mon Oct 08, 2012 11:38 am
Just to put the other side into this debate , there was 4 of us sat in the East stand on Saturday (as we do every year) all in our Hull shirts (one of these even had a rovers shirt on !!) and we had no trouble at all enjoyed some friendly banter with fans around me , but the fans were a credit to the club . Even back at the hotel was sat with Leeds fans and discussing the game we had just seen and next season .
Even the 4 Warrington fans near us had no problems apart from when they left with 5 mins to go and the full crowd around them sang "we can see you sneaking out" that did make me chuckle.
