I’d also add Dwyer going is also a fair reflection of how far O’Connor has developed in that role.

Amazing how differently he's viewed on the Farcebook groups etc.

He always puts in the effort, so I assume it looks good to them?
can't say anything against dwyer , martin or zak on there

for me dwyer should have been short term as should thompson and donaldson ,

nothing particularly against martin just more solid than spectacular for overseas alongside defensive bentley, hopeful gannon can be aggressive and pacey

zak was a neccessity and doing well i just wouldn't have had him back after previously wanting out ,very few players have had 2 spells with us

Im as far from that crowd as you could get, but Martin has probably been our player of the year, and Hardaker has been outstanding.

The level of discussion on Facebook rarely gets above the moronic. Not getting why Dwyer is being released tells you everything you need to know.

FB must be a very different place to here. I don't know how you can watch RL for years and not understand the importance of good service from dummy half.

Dwyer has cleaned up his distribution a fair bit since being dropped, but he still lapses and I suspect always will under pressure. He will also occasionally win games from the bench, as he's clearly a real threat when running.

Under Agar that combination meant him getting more and more game time. Under Smith he's been usurped by someone who had never played hooker but can pass and has a rugby brain. I think its fairly clear who better understands the way a good team works.....

Love Brett Hodgson's quote on signing Dwyer and extending Houghton. Says it all.
"He can be a good foil for someone like Houghton who delivers real quality and consistency in his defensive work and distribution, whilst Brad can bring pace and flair"
In other words, Dwyer does not bring consistency in his defence and distribution.....

Between the two of Houghton and Dwyer they have 1 decent hooker combined, Houghton can pass and Dwyer can run. Hull won’t be anything better than a mid table club with them though, Houghton has been the most overated player at Hull throughout his career, he can pass but that’s where his attacking attributes end.

I think you are being a bit harsh on Houghton. He did win m.o.s and at the time was one of the best no 9's in SL. To be fair Ellis should have won it.

In the last few years his performances have slipped due to being flogged for 80 minutes. I wouldn't have given him another contract but he had the option in his favour to carry on.

Lovodua was signed as a hooker but has hardly played there due to mystifying selection decisions by Hodgson and our usual injury problems.

The big hope is Balmforth. Very highly regarded but having 3 hookers ahead of him his game time may be limited.

I think Martin did OK, didn't he have a family bereavement/ ek home earlier in the season ? Or was that last season ?.
Since RS came in Martin has been great for us.

Zak,Sutcliffe and Dwyer are deffo the Farcebook darlings
