Miller, Lisone and Momo are simply not the required quality of overseas player that any team with top 4 aspirations should ever be signing

He’s been gradually improving in recent games but that was his best game for Leeds. Some way off Lewis though, unfortunately.

I've just watched Arthur's press conference. He's already mentioned how scrappy the ruck is.

Our poor overseas quota players are a huge part of the problem. Momirovski I have some sympathy with the club for signing - he was a risk with injuries but had pedigree and was a last minute replacement for Macdonald. It just hasn't worked out as he looks done to me. Miller's the disappointing one. He didn't have the sort of issues in the NRL he's showing for Leeds - he wouldn't have played even the games he did if that was the case.

Regardless, our overseas players as a group aren't even in the solid not spectacular bracket, and most are no better than average English players. Even Croft gets away with a lot of invisible man performances. Only Martin looks decent every week. But if we can't shift a few before their contracts are up it will be at least a season before we can make many changes.

Anyway, BA now knows what he's up against. He doesn't have time for senior players to get with the programme so it will be interesting to see what changes he starts to make.

It really goes to show the staggering difference between our squad building and theirs. They can loan out a prop who they don't need and he instantly becomes our best performing forward. Our squad management when it comes to the forwards has been dreadful for years. Why are we so reluctant of having a robust unit of big forwards?

He really wasn’t our best performing forward at all.

Miller must be close to getting dropped, he is working directly against what BA is trying to drill in to the side.

Lewis was very good today; but he ran through Mom for one try, and was given too much space for most of his kicks.

We were still ending too many sets in our own 40-50m zone.

And it is, it's dreadful to watch, isnt it. But he also said that's just how it is played over here and he'll have to work with it.

Re: Round 18 | Hull KR (Home) : Sun Jul 21, 2024 7:31 am
I think last night showed some promise. We actually executed the game plan in the first 20, and looked by far the better team in that period. As others have mentioned, Frawley looked good, but then you think what half back would have looked good when we were constantly starting almost all our sets on our try line under Smith.

What’s clear is that the players aren’t conditioned to play a high intensity game, as we looked really fatigued even at the end of the first half.

Miller was awful, needs to be told never to pass it, and only focus on carries out of yardage. Mom also needs to get his head in the game. For me, Newman looks pretty poor too, and it’s a real shame McCormack has injured himself last week, as he’d fancy his chances with those two playing.

The good: the game plan was really obvious and when we stuck to it we looked the better team. Martin again proved why he is worth another contract. Frawley was much improved

The Bad: couldn’t stick with the plan long enough. Aside from Mik and Martin, the pack were poor. Miller was terrible. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him dropped to prove a point.
