We are staying at the Strand palace hotel in central London, any ideas on parking?

Really struggling for parking ideas.

It is not that near the Strand, so you would have to drop off and then get the tube (or walk, maybe 15 mins) back, but Bloomsbury Square underground car park is very good and cheap for London as it is operated by Camden Council. It is around £25 for the day and they have a great evening rate of about £7 IIRC. Most of the other car parks in central London are operated by commercial companies and you are looking at £35 to £40 a day at least.

Specially for McF - Bloomsbury Square car park has a double helix design and it is quite sort of 'trippy' to get your head around!

Break/clutch, Hand break on, into neutral, engine off, lock car, walk away from your car, don't look back.

Cross your fingers it's still there when you get back.

Ok?

What about the congestion charge, would it apply if you stayed here?

Yes mate, unfortunately, but you can pay it on a pay machine in the car park. That said, you don't have to pay after 18.00 and on a weekend (& Bank Hols), so if you arrive in the Zone on Friday after 18.00 and then head back before Tuesday at 7.00 then you don't need to pay anything.

If you arrive before 18.00 on Friday, don't forget to pay the bloody thing before you leave the car park or before midnight... or you may get a fine!

We are staying at the Strand too. Not sure on parking as we are going down by train, hate driving in London.

Ooh and just a note we are not bandwagoners, some have other commitments - we get to games when we can and the last tim Leeds wjere at Wembley I was 8 1/2 months preggers jumping up and down with the rest of em!

Stayed at the Strand for the last 20 years (when the final's been in London of course) and unless you wanna pay an absolute fortune in parking costs i really suggest you find alternative way of getting into Central London

I've been invited to stay at Buckingham palace for the night. Lizzie didn't want the place empty over bank holiday weekend so she asked me to house sit.
