Bailey gave a poor performance along with most of a badly beaten pack. The exceptions were JJB who gave his all and Eastwood who, when he was on, at least tried to combat the Wires dominance up front. I think why Bailey comes in for so much stick with many fans is that he is built up to be a far better player than he really is. He showed a complete lack of skill and awareness in not scoring in the crucial opening minutes when we were on top and so lost us the momentum that could have altered the game. As he drove for the line he had two players in front to his left. Bailey chose to step to the left and into them and was then overwelmed mainly by the fullback. Had he driven low to his right away from these players he would have grounded the ball.
Other players also were held up over the line but they didn't have as clear a chance to score as Bailey did. So it is fair comment to point this out as it is to record the pathetic display of Kirk whose paperweight tackle cost us 6 points.

I don't really rate Kirke and I thought he little better than useless on Saturday. However, Ryan Hall broke the line and took Atkin's dummy, which left Kirke in a recoverable but, difficult position. A 50/50 responsibility there I feel.
............Actually, 60/40 if you account for the fact that Hall found himself in an unusual position.
