Ive not seen all the evidence relating to this or the past case but ANYONE who uses a bottle to attack someone is a coward. I know people who have been bottled in a fight and its a cowardly act.
People can preach high and mighty all they want but the bottom line is if you want a fight then fight with your fists and stop being a soft poop.

My mate was in a pub and was punched in the face. The lad then got him in a headlock and repeatedly punched him in the face. My mate could do nothing but swing his right arm which just so happened to have a pint glass in it. He connected and the attacker ended up with a six inch gash across his face.

I'm just disagreee with Mark Thompsons sweeping generalisation that ANYONE who attacks with a bottle is a coward.
