i think that next season will be brian mac's judgement day and rightly so,as he can then no longer get away with such a lowly league finish as is currently possible under this top 8 play off series.
next season will see this change to a straight top 4 play off series and whereby all sides will not be able to "toss it off in the weekly rounds" anymore in order to just make the cut whilst still being safe in the knowledge that 3 or 4 great play off performances could still make you grand final winners
for all of you brian mac doom mongers on here i would like to ask the question:
in a salary capped competition should it not be deemed a successful season if your club wins one of the two major trophies on offer?
saints will gladly accept the third best trophy on offer as a successful season without a doubt will they not?
some of our posters have grown up on our clubs success' and have not known what barren years without any silverware feels like, especially a challenge cup final win!
imo if brian mac doesn't deliver a top 4 finish or a cc final success in 2015 then he will probably be replaced as head coach,
although this may be a bigger job than most fans think as the next incumbent will have to rebuild a squad without at least jp and kylie, but also with an ageing pack that needs overhauling
which coach out there will be trusted with that responsibility?
