One thing we can take heart in is it wasn’t uncommon for the golden generation sides to out in poor performances jjst before the playoffs

They were, of course, capable of putting in the odd decent one once the playoffs were underway

They've got the perfect opportunity. They're probably good enough, it's that rare ability to be able to whistle up a good performance on demand...
That really would be a big step up. Never obvious which teams are going to nail it - until they do.
Come on Leeds!

It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.

Leeds finish 5th. Whilst over in St Helens TruthtalkingMav is starting to worry…

That was a dreadfully poor quality game.
Both teams there for the taking, neither really deserved to finish in the top 6.
But again, we found a way.
Thought the pack went pretty well.
Mik, Tet, Martin, Bentley all very good.
Tetevano ran with real aggression, yeh he dropped the ball a couple of times, but I don't mind that if he's gonna run hard and straight.
Plus some very poor distribution from Leeming for a couple of them.
Leeming was dreadful, he doesn't look right.
Sezer was really poor (until the last minute).
And as for the number of mistakes in the first 60 minutes - absolutely incredible. Can't be that bad next week, surely.
I still worry about the line speed tactic.
Cas were the only team that would have won with a golden point drop goal.
We let them get all the way up the field into position, they wouldn't have done the same with us.
Cats will steam roll us down the middle on Friday (again) - hope we've got a plan to cope with it......

Catalans only have one game plan, as above, once that fails they start to fall apart/ fitness falters, see second half last week and comeback win. We just have to start better and not give them 20 points start. If its even ish by half time we can go on to win.

Yep, thought Mik, Tet, and Martin (despite overplaying early) were outstanding. Gannon was exceptional off the bench. Only 18 and he's just about got it all. Totally agree re Leeming. For a middle defender his initial contact is powder-puff and is a major reason why we keep getting rolled. Aside from that basic deficiency, today he kicked the ball away in good position, passed with sloppiness, blew a try by overrunning Hardaker, and failed to get under the posts from a clear run in to the line. Formwise I don’t think he currently merits a spot in the starting 13. O’Connor is less flashy but, at the moment, better option in my opinion. All that said, it is incredible that we finished 5th given our predicament 10 games into the season.

I was for us taking the 2.

Agree on comments Re: Leeming getting outmuscled. It was very obvious last week.

I think Austin is really poor. So disappointed he's coming back next year.
