What this means now is Mcdermott's days are numbered.
If we'd gone far in the playoffs there would have been credit in the bank for an iffy season next year.
But the ending to the season erodes away at the credit previous success will have given him. Remember we were only halfway through 2012 when GH was asking the question ''has this team run it's course?''. They won the GF, did nothing last season, won the CC this season but have had bottom of the table form in the league for months. They weren't saving themselves for the main event like we thought because there was nothing in the tank tonight and they crashed out against whipping boy rabble. Leeds just weren't good enough to whip the rabble and that's pretty damning.
When leeds crashed out in 2006 (quite a similiar performance to tonight) they hadn't won a trophy in 2 years but they had young key players who just hadn't completly become winners yet. Now the key men are getting old.
Mcdermott will have next season. If leeds don't make the playoffs he'll be moved on, and so will quite a few of the players.
