Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.
Firstly, to the flood of opposition fans we'll have to endure.....you've got to be in it to win it and, in reality, us or Saints will get another crack at the Aussies next year. The rest of your "heroes" are just making up the numbers.
As for manly goodness they were very, very good. Strong fast and skillful. I thought we stuck in well. They tired at the end of each half, which was to be expected and we had to stay close to have a chance but they simply blew us away.
Ali wasn't fit (aside from displaying the best piece of skill from either team on the night) and losing Burrow was a blow but I doubt we could've lived with them at the start of the 2nd half regardless.
We can't use a WCC result to hide the gulf in our skills now and that should be the standard all SL teams aim for. I am confident Leeds will try, and probably Saints. But as for the rest of the garbage in our comp dragging us down well...........

Both countries play rugby league, but the way the game is looked upon in australia is vastly different to this country, and there is the problem and reason why they are light years ahead...

No, I aint aving that G1. The reason we lost today is because the ball wasn't blown up enough.

No that's not the case. I heard it was because the coach they used to get to ER was actually on old Black Prince and was therefore uncomfortable. This resulted in the players' whole game preperations going to poop.
How many "fekkwits" are actually blaming anyone for the loss? Manly are one of the best sides I've seen for a long time, and for about 70 minutes we just about matched them.
Everyone of their players had an almost complete skill set, carrying it in both hands, stepping off both feet and being able to pass accurately off both hands. These are the standards we need to aspire to in this country.

Lots of em....read some of the threads on this board, its unreal!
Tonight's Manly team is one of the best to come over in recent years of the WCC. They played very well as a team, definitely no shame in losing to them. As far as it goes, Leeds ran them close-ish, the start of the second half was the killer. They came back out hungrier, unfortunately.
However, I have to ask the question... is Ryan Bailey going to get a ban similar to McCarthy-Scarsbrook's from last season? If not, then why not? For me, Peacock & Bailey were lucky not to get straight reds for their part in the first scrap.
Guess it'll be at least another year before someone can lay claim to retaining the WCC two years running.

70 minutes is a bit of an exaggeration
but you are right that is the standard
