If Lee Smith stays then Hall could be used as a straight exchange for Shenton I suppose, that might work, although Hall has been very good for Leeds this season.

Why would Cas sell one of the best centres in the league to the big local rival for average nobodies (like Gibson) or cash (which the club don't need)?
Ryan Hall was probably at the game just to watch a Rugby match...or it wasn't actually him
Yes. If Smith stays he can do what Hall does on the wing while Leeds strengthen a weak area. Providing Shenton can revert to a right sided centre again it would represent a net gain for the side in that circumstance.

I'd swap Ashley Gibson plus cash.
So would I but as Gibson is out of contract at the end of this season (at present) it's not much of a deal to Castleford unless the deal could be agreed now-ish.
Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.
Hall has really developed. As a winger I think he's probably eclipsing what Smith was doing on the right wing last season, albeit he's doing it on the left.
I thought we had a lack of depth? Why are people advocating getting rid of our form threequarter and, arguably, the form wing man in the entire competition?
