Positives + Negatives : Sun May 17, 2009 7:39 pm
Well nearly half way through the weekly rounds, so what's been good, what's been bad...

POSITIVES:
Ryan Hall - Our top try scorer, looks better under the high bomb but still needs a little work on it, 2nd best metre make behind JP is he?
Danny Buderus - In the games he's played he's done well, hope he can get better and better.
Early season form - Not including Manly we won our first 5.
Wigan home + Huddersfield away: Two great performances.
Paul McShane - Has played very well and it's good to give Diskin and Buderus a run for their place in the 17.

NEGATIVES:
Scott Donald - Yes he's been put on the wing to sure up the defence, but Lee Smith was better in defence than him the other night. Hope he ups his game for the second half of the season.
Ashley Gibson - Unfortunately he just doesn't have the talent to be a top class SL centre, which has been proved in a few games this year.
Our performances against St Helens - Outclassed in both games.
Quins, Salford + Bradford, really should be beating these teams.
WCC - Was our "target game" and we really didn't play to our level.
Props - Apart from Peacock and Bailey at KR, none of them have really been in top form. Kylie's carries are poor, Burgess' ball retention is shocking. Bailey just goes missing at times.

We should be aiming to win all of our games for the rest of the season, we will lose some. But if we lose more than two we've done worse than last year, but if we put in the form we did at the start of last year, we should finish top.

the last year thing doent really matter to me!! its a different season, all playing rosters are different and some coaching teams are different!! some teams are worse and some are miles better!!

there are 14 games left. if im positive i can see us winning 10 of those, but if im negative i could see us losing 7 games. personally i think 7-10 wins will see us finish 2nd to 4th as any team can win on the day.

i would think not winning the GF would say if we did worse than last year

Positives:

Ian Kirke- Played consistantly well for us and is our most improved player.

Jamie Peacock-Lead from the front and has been generally awesome.

Danny Buderus- Showing that he is truly world class.

20 Minute spells of brilliance have showed we can play a bit.

Negatives:

Danny McGuire-Hasn't performed at all so far this year.

Keith Senior-Looking a shadow of his former self, one season too far perhaps?

20 Minute flashes-We haven't put it together consistantly yet.

look im a massive maggs fan i admit that!! i think he's done ok to be honest!! i think burrow is great when on form but for me he is just not cutting it as a quality scrum half. i think its hard to give stick to the halves when or pack isnt going forward so it makes the kicking game much harder which leads to a naf platform for maggs and burrow to rip in,
but over the last 2 seasons mcguire has outshined burrow in every part of the game imo.

You're forgetting he nearly blew that by kicking through rather than settling it for the one.

I thought this at the time but after watching it back he did well to bring it in field and probably would not have been able to steady himself and slot it over from that angle.
