I liked Gale when he was at his best when Cas were at their best .If we sign him that is the player I want ,I'm a bit uncertain about a 31yearold who has missed a full season . I think Sinfield may have one or two surprises in store for us in the ne t few weeks regards recruitment

Why do people keep going on about the future and youngsters? And yet contradict that by wanting immediate signings who would stunt the youngsters?

We have one of the best young halfbacks around in McLelland, we need him pushing on. Gale is the perfect sort of signing to do that. Two years with him, and we have that development. Remember these have trained together before and the Cas management liked what they saw.

You can’t go out there and get a 25 year old, as that would be long term, unless you are writing off McLelland. Myler is not the type of player to help develop someone, so that won’t work.

If McLelland is as good as you say(ive only seen him against Bradford he was miles off SL that day) then yes Gale signing is perfect.McLelland will still have to impress to get infront of Lui who I feel will be better next year.If Myler does leave then Lui has to stay,we cant go into next season with only two half backs with one being a rookie.

Can I ask why you expected an 18 year old half back in his 1st game of top level RL to look ready? On top of that he was playing half back in a team that was mentally shot at that time and with a headless chicken as his hooker.

Did that cup game and the SL game he played after harm his development or has it given him an insight into what he needs to do to play at that level? He seems to have kicked on since then, in fact as the year has gone on his got better every week from what I've seen of him. Hes a talented kid and needs more opportunities to develop and more opportunities to make mistakes as any young teenage half will.

Fans have to stop this nonsense of expecting kids to be superstars from day one. Sinfield made his debut at 16. He was nowhere near ready, absolutely nowhere near but it didnt harm him or his development and he did ok I'm sure we all agree. Maggs and Rob weren't ready physically for SL when they came in. I think fans forget this and think they came into the team and people kept handing them SL trophies.

McLelland has a real chance to be a top half in SL in my opinion, over the next couple of years he needs to be given the opportunity gradually. One week in then back to Fev for a month, 2 games in SL then out again. In 2 years we need him to gain experience to be able to take it on.

That goes for all our brilliant youngsters. As I've said on here many times in 4 years time we need these kids to have gained enough experience to be able to take the club forward from the age of 22 or so. Weve a brilliant future if we can do that.

We all need to be patient. It's a rebuild and transition going on at the moment.

Agree with the above for me makes perfect sense, upgrade on myler and not stunting McLennand progress
