NEW DEAL | Rhyse Martin - Expires: 2022 : Fri Sep 03, 2021 9:13 am  

Club have confirmed Rhyse Martin has signed a new contract at the club.

They’ve also confirmed that King vuniyayawa and Konrad Hurrell are leaving at the end of the season.

I'm happy with this. Martin is easily the most consistent of the three, and the goalkicking is a bonus.

Good news. He’s been playing well. 1 year only though.. interesting is that. We’ve a load off contract next season end

Good deal well earned a much better player than given credit for. Only 28 still, one year about right, goes well next year then take it from there.

Im interested to see how he goes now hes signed his deal. Think 1 yr is about right and I wouldve kept him on a short deal. Think hes played his best stuff for us of late and I hope that continues.

I can accept Covid hit him harder than some but his form pre-covid was poor. Is his form due to being out of contract? Hopefully not. We will find out soon enough i guess.

Theres a decent player in there and hes a terrific goalkicker. Worth a 1 year to see how it goes.

Koni can go for me, not sorry to lose him. King was a cheap signing, i think hes done ok and has been underused but we can get better. I would be ok in keeping that cap space available for a mid-season signing if anyone pops up if nobody is available of quality.

Happy with this his form has been picking up, he’s actually got a fair turn of pace aswell, weve got decent options in the second row next year.

Would really like to see a decent prop come in now, especially with King leaving, hope Uncle Gary has something up that sleeve!

Earned his deal been pretty consistent last couple of months and if we are challenging at the top end of the table the goalkicking is an important factor. As everyone has said another prop and we are ready to go. I expect to see another prop come in and Luke Briscoe retained on a 1 year deal to provide cover In the backs. Agree however if the right person not available retain the cap space

Luke Briscoe has been playing very well, if retain him if he’s not on too much cash

I would have preferred to have signed two props as he plays in a position we are already well stocked but pleased its only one year deal.Not sure he'll make the starting line up.

What will be our starting back row next season then? I think Martin played at 13 for PNG, maybe he'll start there, but then what does that do to Cam Smith, who I think has been really good this year.

You would expect starting second row to play the full eighty, so I expect Martin and Mellor to be competing for the starting spot alongside Bentley.
