You mistake envy for rivalry. I've nothing to be envious of Leeds for. We did the double before you and we've been more successful overall during SL than you. The only thing I felt at the Grand Final last year was anger at my own team for not beating you when they clearly could have done, given that they had done so on numerous occasions that season. But even that is so last year.
Thank you. We will need it!
And PS: Leeds are still nowhere near the team they were last year. But as I say, that may change.
Like last year this year could be exactly the same. We can play poorly as long as we continue to amass points. You can beat us as many times as you like.
The game that matters is the one that kicks off at 1800hrs, Sat 10th October 2009. Recent evidence shows we have the upper hand on you in this department having previously being wrote off in both.
I have the feeling that should we both be lucky enough to see our teams in the GF again this year there is no reason for the result to be any different. However having said that, if we continue to meet in GFs sods law says that sooner or later you will win one.
Neither of us can or should expect to win the comp every year, we can just hope that we are there or there abouts then as I said its all down to the performance on the day!
As for not being the team we were last year well we are only 3 games in and I wouldnt expect us to be. As you know its all about peaking at the right time!
