With regard to slowing the game down.I felt that many of our so called knocks by players who stayed on the field were actually "old soldier routine" as it allowed our players to get a break and recover some energy, due to not being able to rotate from the bench.
Looking at the match stats, Greg Richards stands out. I had noticed him making a few nice offloads, reminiscent of a young Jammer, but I didn't notice the work he put in. I was probably too busy noticing Thompson
LMS also came out with a good knock as well.
Richards 20 carries and 114 metres, and 23 tackles
LMS 14 carries 110 metres 29 tackles
Flanagan 15 carries 97 metres 26 tackles
Thompson 16 carries 96 metres 27 tackles
Soliola came out well with 134 metres and 24 tackles. I suspect most of this was before he was moved to centre, after which he had a bit of a mare.
Masoe showed good leg drive and made good yardage when in the tackle but otherwise was very lazy
66 metres from 8 carries, and 19 tackles most of which were third man in flops, isn't good enough.
