Jack Ashworth also signed his first professional deal with the club. 2nd row/centre (not a surprise). Any good?

Some have questioned his lateral mobility, though, which could be a major reason to move him to prop.

Such things can be worked on, they just need time to develop - if the plan was for him to become a prop, he would of played there for the 19s more often, and I think he'd of featured as much as Richards has this year for the first team. Patience and time will tell

Great news. Greenwood has all the potential to be a strong running front rower.

Oh and good news on Greenwood. He's definitely improved this season to last season, although he's still very much a work in progress. Of all the younger players he's probably the smartest in terms of knowing which line to hit and the timing of when to hit the line.

Have we re-signed Chris Flannery?

what are we going to do with Savelio?
Obvious talent, but used VERY sparingly this season. Is that down to the problems he had last year with illness? Is it down to fitness problems?

If he gats over these issues (whatever they are), could he be the "new" prop that so many are demanding for next season?

Back to Greenwood, good news I say. Sav apart, he's certainly the hardest to handle of our young forwards.

On his last run out, Savelio looked a lot fitter and leaner than he had done earlier in the season. Rumour was that his fitness was stopping him getting a proper run in the first team before, so pleasing to see him looking better. Looks like he needs a proper off-season of hard training with the 1st team should see him becoming a regular in 2015.

So much for the doomsayers saying he would join his brother at 6 finger central.

I thought he started the season well. Disappointed that he hasn't kicked on: has he been injured?

Same with josh jones really. Thought he was probably our best and most consistent performer first half of the season..

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Re: Joe Greenwood : Thu Jul 24, 2014 11:56 am
I think given that we are heading into the back end of the season, you would expect the bigger earners to be playing more often and more up to the standard you would expect from those big earners.

Lets face it if Greenwood was playing, or Jones was playing, week in and week out, at this point of the year. Then Sia/ Manu/ Wilkin/ Flanagan would be missing out on a spot. (also Wellens if he was doing his bench stint)

If that was the case then the big earners are slacking. A week or two back I'd have argued that LMS could be one to miss out, but from reports on here he has upped his game.

Mose would have been out by some from the start of the year, but has also upped his game.

Really the 2nd rowers quality has not been called into question.
