Is the proposed Under 23s competition going ahead, if so how many S L clubs will be involved?

As far as I am aware it is. Saints no longer have any dual reg agreements in place and Ian Talbot has returned to Saints from Rochdale. I presume the plan is for him to be the head coach of our new reserve grade.

As for other clubs, nothing official has been announced. A few months back it was stated that between 6 and 10 clubs where considering going ahead with it, but nothing has been mentioned since.

Hull have appointed Richard Horne as their U23 coach for 2016, so that's Saints, Wigan, Wire and Hull confirmed so far.

I don't see why teams don't just play an A team in Championship 1.

The RFL want that league to have the 3x8 system but they are short 9 teams. Two bird 1 stone?

When is this competition going to play it's games? Are they going to cut overheads by playing them as warm-ups to the SL games?

How would we fair in it? Below Wigan, but above everyone else?

4 tiers of 12 teams, that split into 6 tiers of 8. One up one between the 2nd and third tier with "A" teams not allowed in the play-offs to prevent them getting higher than the third tier.

Probably a good time to have a rebrand as well. SuperLeague 1, Superleague 2, Championship 1, Championship 2 to illustrate the logical split between the top and bottom halves.

Provides some big name opponents for the smaller teams and a better quality of opposition for the "A" Teams.

Does that make sense?
