Fonua was certainly rested, he made his comeback from injury against Hull KR and Radford said it was always the plan to only play him once over Easter rather than throw him in the deep end. I don't think Pritchard was injured either. Thompson and Manu were ill (whether or not they could have played if required, who knows?), Tuimavave had concussion and Minichiello hurt his neck in the KR game.

The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.
Welsby-Dodd-Simms-Eaves-Rizzelli, not Eastmond...the future is coming.

Fonua and Pritchard certainly made a difference in the last quarter, not sure but I think Minichiello got a knock later on in the game.

Having injured players is irrelevant and we can still run the same set pieces, all that's different is that it's a different person with the ball. However that's assuming that we had any to begin with

Only if you think that:

Owen is better than Swift
Dawson is better than Makinson
SMD is better than Lomax
Peyroux is better than Percival

Its not all about set pieces, individual skills play a big part as well.

Minichiello only lasted about 10 minutes last night before he went off injured.

Re: 2nd half scoring : Thu Apr 14, 2016 10:26 pm
I'm on a midweek break in the Lakes in a place where the wifi signal goes in and out as often as the tide at Southport. Didn't see or hear the game, but I see that's yet another game were we didn't score a try in second half this season. That's a fair few games now and no coincidence.

How did we play? Was there any positives?

Only positives was Ashworth and Knowles. I'd have either one over Jon Wilkin anyday and there both on at least 100k less

I like Jack Ashworth would like to see him developed for a loose forward role, got speed and size. He made a few errors on his decision making last night, but you could see he had a bit of vision to create things.

He made a few errors on his decision making last night
- I saw that

but you could see he had a bit of vision to create things.
- I didn't see any of that

Still he is young an inexperienced so far too early to judge him.
I remember when Walmsley started, he was an error machine.
