friday / London - whos going : Wed Feb 01, 2012 8:26 pm
where does everyone go after the game for a couple for drinks?
I live in London so will be going alone, be good to meet up with a group if anyone is sticking around for drinks?

Re: firday / London - whos going : Wed Feb 01, 2012 10:31 pm
I shall be making the 5 hour round trip to see MK play at Huddersfield instead of the 2 hour round trip to see Saints play this Saturday unfortunately.

My God... if anyone had said to me even 10 years ago that I would ever prefer going to see a 3rd division footie game to turning up to see my beloved Saints I'd have laughed in their face. The more I think about it the more utterly depressed it makes me...

I guess your 'beloved' Saints aren't really very beloved then are they?

Most people stick around in the Kings Bar under the main stand for a drink or two, usually a good craic in there. Good chinwag with the Broncos fans, they have player presentations, a band on and usually show the Sky game. Will be sauntering into Twickers for a few after that.

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

It's great after game party in the Kings bar post match.
The band last year were superb, but Wigan own Bri Telford stole the show. I'm sure a few of you on here will recognise him.

This year I want to see Us going forward in the last 5 minutes even if we are 40 points up.

Anyone staying in any of the hotels near Brentford be advised that the Watermains on Brentford high street has blown again ( Think that is 4 times in 18 months). So avoid the A315 unless it cannot be avoided.

I most certainly will being a season ticket holder at "The Dons" these days :) I sit just above the "N" in the East stand if you want to give me a wave ;) If you've never been to the Stadium of Dreams before then I heartily recommend the Dons Burgers by the way - they have gherkins and use proper cheese with holes in it and everything: definitely the best footie burgers you can buy. Wrap up warm though as it's cold as heck in there if the wind gets up...

At the risk of being shouted at for daring to have a go at the glorious Superleague system yet again, I just can't see the point at all in forking out the best part of 100 quid and an entire Saturday for me and the Mrs. to go and see some pointless friendly when I can go and see a game that actually matters to the outcome of one of my teams' season going on at the same time instead. I was excited at the start of the season to see the new stadium, but I've done that now and there's nothing else for me to get worked up about in SL for another 4 or 5 months when the Challenge Cup starts in earnest frankly (bar the Wigan game naturally ;)).
