So how does everyone feel about that?

For me we lacked direction in attack and composure in defence.

In terms of attack we bombed far too many chances through bad passes and silly errors, we could have scored a hat full tonight if we had somebody to just provide that killer instinct and capatalise on opportunities.

In defence we were far too nervous, jumping out of the line and leaving gaps for Widnes to go through, That's down to not having confidence in your inside man and poor defensive discipline.

Nathan Brown wrote:
The most disappointing thing is we led 12-6 and then we scored a try that was disallowed, I thought our response to that wasn't good. When you lose a number of games in a row, and close ones too, your confidence can be down. But our resolve wasn't there and we needed to fight harder against that decision.

Nathan Brown wrote:
I thought we actually defended really well for a long period and then they got us with a push over try. We did something like 50 tackles and had the ball for two - defending well - but our resolve wasn't good enough to keep us in the contest.

Nathan Brown wrote:
I thought there were some really good performances and we created two other chances in the first half, got back to 10 behind, made a line break and then we threw it on the ground when we look like scoring in the corner.

Nathan Brown wrote:
We needed to be a little more clinical. When we were behind we played our best attacking football in a number of weeks and that is probably a confidence thing and the fact you can throw caution to the wind.

Nathan Brown wrote:
There is lots of good stuff I can see, but consistency isn't there. We need to get a number of players to marry up.

Referring to injuries:

Nathan Brown wrote:
I prefer to talk about the ones we do have though and I think we are seeing the benefit of the younger players playing more games. Look at Mark Percival, he is playing really well. The youngsters are outshining some of the older ones. The best forward on the field was Luke Thompson who has just turned 18.

Nathan Brown wrote:
But I thought tonight we could have helped ourselves a lot better and come up with a positive result. Things will end up turning out good though.

Alex Walmsley wrote:
Gutted again... Definitely light at the end of the tunnel though, credit to young @Luketommo1(Luke Thompson) what an absolute machine that lad is

Saints wrote:
For those asking about injuries, couple more to return over the next week or two but Robes and Jonny Lomax are still "not short term"

Saints wrote:
Sia missed the game with a dead leg so will be back for the next game

Saints wrote:
Roby has an ankle injury and is still wearing his boot and Lomax is as per the info a couple of weeks back - hamstring.

sounds like every game recently. I thought we were bad under Simmons but Brown has brought a whole new dimension to "bad"

We lack everything. Why can't people realise that we are utter rubbish. Its embarrassing.

Fair play to Widnes, they was better than us in every department.

We won't make the top eight, I can't see where the next win will come from. Lucky they scrapped relegation

If Hull KR beat Castleford tomorrow it will put us down to 9th in the table with a hard run ahead of us.

Shockingly bad Saints side but this has been coming for 3/4 years.

However all of a sudden opinion seems to have turned against Brown after tonight.

The senior players didn't like Potter , the senior players saw for Royce in the end , the senior players ....(pattern emerging).

The only coach in 5 years brave enough to move wellens. He is giving the kids a chance (unlike rush & Cunningham).
Injuries have been difficult , but the bigger problem is that most of the senior pros at Saints have had it too good for too long and need moving on. Given the circumstances I think he could still lead Saints out
of this dark period.

The young guns are showing excellent commitment and potential but making some mistakes.

The senior pros are having a laugh.

Sacking Brown at this stage would just paper over the cracks again.
Brown needs to be judged but not at this stage.

We won't sack brown. He will have next year. I said the lack of signing a halfback would set us back 4 years when Eastmond left and I'm right!

LMS, Hohiah and Perry need to spend the rest of the season at Swinton, none of them should have a future at Saints. Widnes scored 3 try's off the back of Louies penalty's once again.

Nathan Ashe is a dreadfull player at SL level. Were currently playing without a proper 1, 6, 7 and 9 and its absolutely killing us!

Put wello in that list. He was awful. If he's not fullback he should play at Swinton.

I agree on Ashe, he's not a super league standard player. He's embarrassing to watch.

Isn't your club Batley? Swinton is Warrington's supported club. I'm not trolling believe me.
It's hard at the moment. Had Roby been playing tonight he would have dragged you through that for a win. As players come back, it will bring confidence to others. You never know you could do a Leeds at the end of the season.
