The guy's a pudding. Will be interesting to see if he gets an NRL deal for next year though. I'd like to know if it's an attitude and fitness thing or if he's just knackered from all the injuries.
I was chuffed when we signed him too
When we signed him, I went on a Manly site and asked more about him.
They said he was quite jeckyl and Hyde in his performances - not week to week, but season to season.
In his first season, despite missing a lot of games through injury, I thought he was good. He was very vocal in defence and was extremely good at dominating the opposistion in the tackle without being penalised. Going forward, while he didn't quite eat up the yards, he was good at attracting 3 tacklers.
The second season was much the same, but you would notice more and more that in the faster paced games against Wigan and Wire, he'd struggle to keep up and ended up making mistakes when flustered. He had a couple of very poor performances in the playoffs.
This season, he's dropped off the chart. Rarely available due to injury, when he is he looks out of shape and ineffective, facts compounded by Brown's decision to only play him for 10 minutes a week. He's never going to gain fitness at that rate.
Question - if overseas players cannot play on dual reg, what team (other than the firsts) can he play for if he was going to try and build up his match fitness?
