We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Steve Prescott Cup : Tue Feb 18, 2014 8:44 am
Well after basking in the after glow of yet another win at Warrington. How do people think we will go against Hull FC.

Their record at Langtree Park (all be it just 2 seasons) is a record we don't want to continue.

Not being in the town, I've no idea how this game is being pushed. But I would imagine it should be a big turn out with all the fund raising for Steve Prescott. The bridge renaming etc.

Hopefully it will be a fantastic atmosphere. Sadly won't be able to make the game this year. It will be the first game I've missed against Hull in a while, I always enjoy these games, but no doubt we will win now I can't make it.

I'm sure both sides will be upping their game this week.

Speaking from a Hull point of view their will be a good attendance from us. I can't really afford to go but am making some sacrifices to go and show my respect to prekkie and i'm sure there will be many in the same boat as me.

I think it will be a very tight and physical game with only a try either way. Too tight for me to call tbh.

Hopefully we will tidy up a few area from the other night, the defence being the main one.

Tight game, some great players on both sides. I think Hull are very capable of getting the win but Saints have to be favourites. 24-16 to Saints.

I agree you have some great players, but the way a very poor catalan side walked through your defence, it'll need a lot of work.

Can't see past a Saints win, hopefully we can keep it close.

Atmosphere should be fantastic and emotional, both sets of fans singing "One Stevie Prescott"

Oh absolutely we need to be a lot better than against Catalans. But last season our defence saw us through several games that we didn't really have any right to win, and the defence was coached by Radford. Yes we have a few new personnel, but I don't think we have become a bad defensive team overnight.

The optimists way of looking at it is that in 70 minutes of rugby, despite the opposition having the majority of possession, we conceded 3 tries. One was from a perfect kick that is near impossible to defend, and the other two can be easily rectified by Lineham being told to be more aware of where his opposite winger is. The late tries I would put down to us putting the cue on the rack rather than defensive errors as such. Again this should be an easy lesson to learn.

As I said Saints are favourites for me, but don't expect an easy ride. I would be shocked and very disappointed if we conceded 40+ because all the emphasis in training this week will have been on defence.

Or looking at it another way we've conceded 20 trys in our last two competitive games (Giants / Catalan)

Radders will have worked hard on the defence but will be surprised if we can keep Saints below 30 points
