Yes.

He had an operation during preseason (on his shoulder I think?) and was expected to be back around the same time as Mose, but there were "complications". Last I heard he was 6 weeks away, but that was 2 weeks ago ... So we might see him in a month!

Least our Josh Perry Mrk II wont be taking up so much cap space :D

I notice it has all gone ominously quiet on Wheeler too. Looks like all his muscles have disappeared again.

Lance could be keeping wheeler out if he carries on.

Saints should forget Wheeler and concentrate on moulding this team into a championship side.

With Wheeler there have been far to many setbacks and dare I say it. Far to many chances. Looking at his CV.
I don't think he's worth it.

I think peoples biggest worry is that if we let him go, he'll find another club just in time for his injuries to miraculously disappear, and him spend the next 10 years torturing us.

However, if we moved for Brierley of Leigh, we'd have another young british half and, potentially, the best squad knocking about, especially if Lance keeps up his form.

I've desperately wanted Wheeler to succeed, but its just one thing after another after another after another.

I was very excited by the idea of signing Anasta for next year, although two imported halfbacks isn't particularly what I want.

Not sure why people keep mentioning brierly, he's recently signed a new long term contract in the face of the rumours, and has made it quite clear his intention is to stay at Leigh ...

As much as I'd like to have 2 British half backs, the best we could come up with would be GOB - if the talents not there, we'd be churlish not to look elsewhere - at least a signing like Anasta would only present a short term fix whilst we continued our search... Or continued to figure out the problems with wheeler. And it would be no different to keeping lance who would remain at 6 if he stays.

I imagine we will line up as 6. Lance/ new "marquee" signing 7. Walsh 14. Wheeler/ new second grade halfback (gob, Williams etc)

Still Time for Beaumont

No urgency given there are plenty of props at the moment and he was signed as a fringe player.

Could be a mid season gem that takes the weight off the mainstream props and provides
a nice selection headache come the play offs.

Needs to pull on a jersey by millennium weekend if not Easter.

If he turns out to be of the same calibre as Dawson in the Centre I would be content.

PS Brierley is quality but comfortable and salary trapped with his supplementary job.
It is easy to become content with being a big fish in a championship small pond.
Not sure he has the desire of Chris Hill to take a risk and make the step up.
Shame as he has real talent.

Wheeler is history. I don't buy into the theory that he will come back to haunt us so we better keep him
on our physio table.

Was he seen at the Leeds game? With LMS and Alex there I would have thought with him being in the original 19 he would have been at the ground supporting the lads. It's not been made clear whether he's been injured or dropped.

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.
