Wilkin : Sun Sep 04, 2016 1:48 pm
To be fair Wilkin has been an above average player for the saints in the past, but, past is now the operative word. He has outplayed his usefulness and is now a liability with his lack of concentration, game awareness and with the number of penalties he concedes. Also his timing of passes is strangling the saints attack as most of his passes are directed at players who are motionless. His constant niggling and cheap shots cost his team mates a lot of energy during the course of a game. He is also guilty of stargazing which is unforgivable in the professional game. I am really disappointed he has been awarded a further contract as I cannot foresee him contributing to a future Saints team.

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

To balance that he would not be making those passes if Walsh was playing

He would still be doing them.pases as he doesn't like taking the ball up and KC has said he likes him Walsh and Turner as 3 ball players.

Why the hell he kicking it so much?

The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.

Its a shame Morgan Knowles isn't being developed into a ball playing loose forward with kicking skills.

I've watched Morgan all through his delevopment and been a big fan of his and he's never been a ball player or kicker. He's a pure athlete.

Dont get me wrong, he can pass but he's not a ball player. He's a good hard working tough lad who is going to be a big big lad.

Re: Wilkin : Mon Sep 05, 2016 3:25 am
I watched the final bits of Sky's show when I got in from the match, they showed some stats on a side panel and I'm pretty certain Wilkin was second top tackler, three tackles behind Roby.

Some of his passing was poor and he had a couple of fumbles, he didn't seem to kick as often in this game I suspect he was carrying a knock ( who isn't at this time of year)

Maybe next week would be a good time to rest him .

Re: Wilkin : Mon Sep 05, 2016 12:20 pm
Its a very awkward dilemma for the club, we are desperate for a backrower who has ball playing skills with leadership qualities and at the same time produce consistent quality performances, Wilkin very rarely comes up with all these attributes on a regular basis. He is also our captain and has inherited the pressure that goes along with the position and is expected to cover for half back injuries.

We've never replaced Manu and we've had to change our structure with Greenwood and LMS operating out wide but they don't have the ball handling skills of our past players. Wilkin does too many tackles which drops his energy levels hence effecting his passing and kicking skills.
