It's not relevant as it does not fit with his theory.
As for comparing the introduction of Graham and Burgess with that of Thompson. There is no comparison.
When Jammer was introduced, he came in as a 5th prop in a team with 4 outstanding props. So he may have come in and took the ground running but he was surrounded by experience and quality all over the park.
The issue with doing that with Thompson is that he has neither to back him up, so you would have to sign more experienced players.
For a top quality side you can drip feed in 1 or 2 players and see little diminsh in quality. But you start putting 5 or 6 in all at the same time, with no serious quality around them and they become diminished by the experience rather than benefit from it.
Percival has been a revelation, but you take him and put him in a side like Warrington with experience all over the park, his introduction is easier and he has bags of experience and strength around him to develop his game further and further.
That's why I maintain, you throw Lomax and Roby back in the side, we are a top 4 side. Nowa days you only need a couple of quality players to be able to play near the top. But to win things you need 4 or 5 very good players, the rest need only be average to good.
Add a good number 7, and 2 good props, to Roby, Sia and Lomax and you have a side that can challenge, without shaking too much else up.
At the moment we have Sia and average to good elsewhere and it's not enough as even the average sides with a decent 7 and a couple of props can out gun us.
