dont get me wrong, im happy he's re-signed, and better support in the forwards he could improve even more

Another plus, he's actually british so obviously non quota. Not to many good props knocking about on the free.

exactly. With LMS, Walmesley and Amor we've got 3 great, relatively young british props. what evey club would want

There will be a fair bit of competition for props to be in the starting 17, so that might be a good thing for LMS. He may realise now he needs to be a bit more consistent to keep a place.

Oh it's nice to be talking Rugby again. I've missed it. During the off-season it's just been a bit dull and we even had the WC this year. So it's not been that long either.

One of my very small claims to fame is that I reffed LMS when he was a kid playing at Greenwich, and he was an aggressive lippy bugger even then.

I agree with you, as it happens, I don't think prop is his best position. He's not really a hard-yards, big-hit kind of lad. He's got pace to burn, good lateral movement, and a decent step. I think he'd be more effective used as a second-row further out, where he could find the gaps that Joynt used to find, running against the halves and centres. The only question mark there, though, is I'm not sure how good his passing game is, and I don't think being used as a prop these last few years would have helped that develop.

I agree.
A shame he hasn't kicked on.
When Graham left I genuinely believed he was gonna be world class but he just hasn't for any better.

I'm pretty sure the competition for the forwards will bring the best out of everyone this year.

I think I will reserve judgement on this one.

He's been hit and miss for me through his Saints career. End of last season he was fantastic, I just hope he continues that form into 2014. Hopefully playing 3rd prop at 13.

LMS proved to me last year how influential he can be. The games towards the end of last season, when he was really dishing it out, he looked great and the team looked great with him. The wigan and catalan victories spring to mind.
However, we have been guilty of being under cooked and out enthused and on those days, he's looked poor and infuriated us all with daft penalties to compound already crap performances.
Perhaps the extra support (or pressure of competition) will make sure he stays on his game this year.
