I understand what you mean, but it's pointless unless you win the GF - and that would signal that we are back.

Anyway, given how tight it is at the top, there's a chance of us finishing anywhere between 1-5

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

There is a difference between being back and being champions.

Being champions would mean far more than just being back. Being back to me means we are in with a realistic chance. Winning the GF by definition is more than a chance.

Looking at the remaining fixtures for the top teams and looking at matches there is a reasonable chance they may lose.
I came up with following

Saints have 4 matches: Hull, Leeds, Warrington, and Huddersfield.

Leeds have 4 matches: Castleford, Warrington, Saints and Wigan

Wigan have 2 matches: Leeds and Warrington

Castleford have 3 matches: Leeds, Warrington, Catalan

Warrington have 5: Catalan Castleford, Huddersfield St.Helens and Wigan

So you can see looking at the above that Wigan have the easiest fixture list remaining, while Warrington have the toughest. Especially considering they also have a match against Leeds in the cup. If you include the cup Warrington have 6 tough fixtures in a row.

My prediction based on probability is therefore

Hubcap winners Wigan
2nd Castleford.
3rd Leeds due to superior goal difference to Saints and Saints have to go to Leeds.
4th St.Helens
5th Warrington

It will be interesting to see how things pan out however, as its perfectly possible for Saints to win all those tough fixtures and finish top. However in all likelihood we will lose some of them along with having a shocker against a team we should comfortably defeat.

Warrington are the team that everyone has to play and therefore have the destiny of the hubcap in their hands.

Its an interesting point, but I'm getting to the point where by I'd rather see saints playing tougher opposition as they're more likely to turn up! If you look at the "big 5" this is how the table looks:

                Won   Draw   Lose   Pd   Points
Saints           4     0      2    +21     8
Huddersfield     3     1      2    -11     7
Warrington       3     0      3    +10     6
Wigan            3     0      4    -14     6
Leeds            2     1      4     -6     5

Interesting given the despondency on here at times...

Not a chance in hell we will finish top. I'll run down McManus drive naked after our last game if we do.

I'm sure that will excite saintsfan ;-)

I don't think Cas will finish above us not with a Cup Semi & potential Cup final coming up.

The plus for us is we play Leeds and Warrington either side of the cup final and one of those will be involved in that so that will distract one of them.

What happens if you put Castleford in that set up?
