Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. (Winston Churchill)

I don't get the constant Brown baiting either. He has got us to the top of the table with a squad that is pretty decimated in terms of creativity. If we had Walsh lomax and Wilkin fit I would be confident that we could have a good run at the GF, but given what he currently has to work with, going into the last game with a shot of finishing top of the league is pretty good. The moany bunch on here must be a right bundle of laughs to live with, talk about glass half empty, you really need to get a grip on reality.

Simmons got us to a Grand Final with a decimated squad but nobody on here thought he was a good coach or that he deserved to stay or even get a modicum of recognition for what he managed in spite of swathes of injuries. Can't now expect people to think Brown is a good coach or worthy of keeping on just because he's secured us in second (with the possibility of top) in the same kind of season.

Brown will stay and it's very possible his contract will be extended because Mike Rush loves Nathan Brown so regardless of whether we become world champions or relegation fodder or some point in between, Brown will still be here making you happy.

Overall Brown has done a good job. He's rebuilt us from the Royce/potter days and his signings have been excellent.

However, the inconsistency the team has is frustrating as hell, but I suppose we will never know whether it's the players or coach. Injuries have ruined his chances with us this season.

If he goes, he goes and we move on. I can't see why Powell would come to us from Cas tho. They have a better side currently - tho I suppose it will be interesting to see how they do next season after everyone has left.

Other than Powell there doesn't seem to be much out there. Which is worrying.

Just let it go. Simmons was awful, saddled us with some horrible signings on top money that set us back massively & wasnt respected in the dressing room by some players with his methods.

Brown is gradually getting rid of the deadwood & although injuries aren't uncommon at Saints - virtually every pivot out for lengthy spells is unprecedented.

Royce Simmons was sacked for a lot less than what Brown has delivered over two seasons.

If West Tigers want Brown they can have him. I would love to see us appoint Daryl Powell as Head Coach if Brown was to go back home.

Royce set the club back years with his woeful signings and woeful retention of players. The players was bored under him with his basic coaching skills.

Brown has made some good signings that have put us back on track but the fact half the squad have poor attitude means we still fall short.

I doubt she'll ever accept Royce was a mistake although the rugby we played was better than the rubbish Potter peddled

I said from the day Royce took over and brought in the likes of Boof to replace graham and lance as our half that he'd set the club back years. I was right

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Re: Brown to Tigers? : Wed Sep 17, 2014 11:38 am
I think the signings were Royce's achillies heel. They were so poor that even he would not play Lance when he arrived.

We've had weird signings before like Trindle under Hanley, but Hanley ended up having to go and Trindle went with him.

In terms of getting the best out of the guys on the pitch. Well I'm not sure what changed from year 1 to year 2, in year one there was something of a backs to the wall mentality which pushed us through. But his second year just seemed to fall apart spectacularly.

I would have given him one or two more weeks than the boss did, but it was not like Rush and Eamon did not like Royce. They all had good things to say about each other. But in the end it's a results business and 9th with no uplift in form just was a concern too far.
