The standard of Superleague is very poor and will not improve because of the salary cap and the decling quality of overseas player. A mini series would be get the better SL teams to compete at higher standards and pick up some learning requirements to improve superleague.

We won't learn much in possibly one game a year. The idea is great but we just not good enough so it's dead in the water and fans will get fed up of losing the series every single year.

Just imagine if our 8 played their 8 ? It would be embarrassing!

I liked the series, I'd pay to watch it (again) even I'd saints arnt in it

I see Wigan lost the following week after their friendly with Brisbane. So Warrington got smashed, saints was awful and Wigan lost.

Not a distraction tho

It could be potentially 4 games a year if they get to the series final all at NRL standard, something the players might see as a good opportunity to adjust to the yard stick.

To be the best, you have to play against the best. Super league will never improve if we don't play the NRL sides. Taking Pete's attitude and not bothering because of the disruption will stagnate the game over here and lead to a slow, lingering death. Also, increasing the salary cap is not the answer, provision must be made to help clubs retain the best talent against raids from the NRL and yawnion. If clubs can retain their own, homegrown talent the whole league will improve as a result.

Are we miles behind the NRL? yes
Will stopping playing games against them raise standards? Never.

Keep the series going and build it up year on year, that way we will eventually catch up in standards with the NRL.

Didnt say it wasn't a distraction, i said it was worth it (definitely so for us) I very much doubt wire or wigan will miss out on the 4 either

We can,t be happy playing in our below par Superleague back yard, it looks as though a mini series could be financially sound, would have to be played in the UK until SL improve there handicap.

If it works then expand it to a global one, but that would be many years down the track.

So you think playing a aussie team once every 12 month and most probably being on the end of a loss will improve our game? If so, how ?

The game will stagnate when fans get bored of losing against them.

What happens if hudds, cas etc qualify to play them? They already said they don't to be in it?

How to do you determine who's the top 3 ? I the league or the final ?
