That hasn't always been the case for Fages though. Granted he's not playing in a team that wins as much as Wigan or Leeds but he's played in plenty of games with a more experienced guy at the side of him when Salford have won.....and still hasn't done much.
Solid young player for sure and he could develop in to a good player but he's a 30-40k gamble not a player you'd spend record sums on.
Not sure why you're expecting a 20 year old player in a poor side to single-handedly carve open teams week after week. The likes of Williams and Sutcliffe haven't been doing that despite the fact that they have had no organizational responsibilities and been playing in a dominant team.
To put it into perspective, at Fages' age Matty Smith was on loan at Widnes in the Championship, and was about to join Celtic Crusaders where he was a bit-part player mostly used as a reserve hooker. Danny Brough had just signed for York in National League 2 after being released by Dewsbury. Again, for Fages at 20 years old to have been the main organizing player in a Super League team for the past 3 years is remarkable, that's why former great halfbacks like Sean Long and Iestyn Harris have been raving about him.
