We can safely write this season off now. We're not capable of beating Leeds and could only beat Wigan at home. We won't be playing anyone at home if we make the semi finals, so that looks a guaranteed defeat. It's not even looking likely that we can make the top 4.
Frankly that has to be deemed a failure. Can't help but think the board are behind the recruitment debacle so won't have set KC any objectives other than trying to not embarrass the fans to the extent that they fail to renew their season tickets.
Except in the GF of 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
Face it, you only won the GF last year because others around you threw it away for various reasons. This year you have a worst coach and opposition that's more on the ball in terms of focus......you're getting found out when push comes to shove.

Come back on this thread when you've won more titles than us
Our away record is quite poor this season (50% win rate), Huddersfield is the only team in the top 6 where we've managed to come away with a win and that was v v close.
Our other away wins came at Hull, Wire, Salford, Wakefield and Widnes.
Last season over 12 away games during regular season we only lost 4 (66% win rate).
If Cas and Leeds do us away, our % win rate for away games will go down to 42% this season.
Pretty boring post I appreciate, but I'm surprised I haven't heard more question marks over our poor away form this year. For a team with aspirations of winning trophies, we're an easy touch on the road.

Its a poor quality superleague this season, more mediocrity teams has resulted in poor away records this season all around 50% or less, I think Wigan, Warrington and Catalan have the worse records in the top 8. Leeds at one spell had a better away success than playing at home but have turned it around. With the exception of Leeds I don,t think we have been hammered away from home as much.
I think its our home performances and results which have been poor this season, very poor against Leeds, Hull and Huddersfield losses, very poor against Huddersfield, Widnes, Castleford and Catalans wins.
We have joined the "mediocrity club", can anyone remember any really good wins performance wise, I can only think of Wigan, Warrington and Salford.

I can't really see the reason for the doom and gloom yet. Leeds only just beat Sts in the CC Semi before losing Aiton. He's a huge loss to the Leeds structure, so IF both teams were on form it would be really close.
The other reason has more to do with what Sts did last year. I wouldn't be surprised to see you gearing up for a big assault in the semis. Not sure why your intensity has dropped, but it does happen and doesn't necessarily mean it can't be brought back pretty quickly, especially with so many very experienced players in your squad.
If you don't turn it around (like continuing to lose games and getting KO'd convincingly in the semis) then this season would have to be seen as a poor one, but lets be honest Leeds, Sts and Wigan were pretty safe in the top 4 when the 8s started, and you probably only need one win to get in. Quite possibly against Leeds the week after Wembley. A win there and the mindset could change quite dramatically.
