I don't think the players have the final say. Their votes determine the three-man shortlist, but then it goes to a panel.

Since Leeds last won a MOS (Iestyn Harris) we have won 6 SL titles, 2 CC and 3 WCC. In that time Cas have had 3 Men of Steel winners and Hudds have had 2. You can see why Leeds fans don't hold out much optimism.

To be fair, you did win a few of those titles from outside the top 2-3. The MOS will tend to be a player from a team that's been consistent over the whole season. I can understand the frustration, though - it does seem slightly out of kilter. For what it's worth, I suspect you'll have a winner this time.

Players yes pick it,l but then there is a panel! a lot of fans will be slightly biased here, I still think Walmsley has a lot to learn and develop his game still, not yet a Man of Steel.
