The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.
Welsby-Dodd-Simms-Eaves-Rizzelli, not Eastmond...the future is coming.

It's all gone a bit Scottish football esq!

Very unpredictable season with Wakefield providing all the entertainment at the moment. Both Wigan (Pack) and Saints (Backs) small in size compared to most teams, Catalans and Hull are strong and massive units and both Wane and Cunningham keep talking about energy levels but don't do anything about it to improve dominating minutes.
Team spirit and mental toughness is helping some of the "lower-mid table" teams at the moment, don't think we have had one single game this year where we have played for 80 mins and I can't think of any game at all this season where we totally dominated and played well.
Our defensive coach should have been sacked months ago, can't tackle, dumb defensive reads and lazy impact approach is embarrassing to watch, I think this is also happening to a lot of super league teams at the moment, if you look at the league its possible 9 out of 12 teams could have a negative points difference which I don't think has happened before.

Have you noticed, you can never find a radical priest when you need one.

The top and bottom of the matter at the moment as far as I'm concerned is, there's a few very happy fans, (and Sky) and a vast majority, the rest, who are totally fed-up. If anyone thinks this is good for the game, a levelling down, then I would strongly disagree. There's only so many times that David beating Goliath is entertaining, especially when Goliath is really only another David. I want Goliath v Goliath back. I want normal service resumed! This season is fast becoming a complete scrub-out. What a blow-out if we get David v David in a third full GF.

Re: Despair? : Mon May 23, 2016 10:41 am
So many things wrong with the game at present, the scrums are just a joke, the time wasting forming, shameful when the referee has to keep telling players to pack down, then how many players are still missing, players seem to stand around as if it time for a chat? over the weekend one scrum only had three players in?

The time wasting near to the end of a match, again one game at Magic this started with 10 minutes to go from the team in front, injuries every tackle, must looking feigned to waste time.

Flopping to slow down the game by mainly forwards? one team yesterday were still doing it yesterday when they were still behind, perhaps that shows the brains in some forwards, and offside, if the referee blew up every time the game would be stop, start continually.

It was a novelty when referees started to have a rapport with players, now some are too friendly and it has lead I feel to so much back chat, no longer just from the captain but several players at once and language from players.

I made the same point exactly on Red Vee. Saints have been tripe for most of the season yet had HKR won and we had won we somehow would have been joint top which is frankly quite laughable.

I like that analogy, just the other day I was thinking what if Leeds scrape into the 8th spot being 14-16 points off top spot and string a few wins together in the play offs to the grand final at the expense of Warrington, Catalans and Hull.
For Saints both winning and losing they are a total embarrassment to the Saints Shirt, walking up to the ground on home games a lot of supporters feel uncertainty of a win and its a 50/50 game. I think McManus has written part of his script for the match programme and is probably waiting for the next chapter of damage with the Hull game.

Not going to happen this year, Saints and Leeds have too many problems.

Re: Despair? : Tue May 24, 2016 1:06 pm
For me the disheartening thing about us this year is the reactions to these losses. In years gone by every single hammering was followed by apologies and acknowledgement that what was served up was embarrassing. Even in 2014 when we won it, we took a lot of hidings on the way. Yet after every one the likes of Brown and Wellens would be honestly evaluating what was going on and apologising.

Now we seem to just be used to it. We seem to have adopted the attitude as a club that these things can happen rather than anyone acknowledging that this is shambolic. I couldn't believe after last weekend he blamed inconsistency. If the true top teams are inconsistent, they might lose one in every three games by 8-12 points. Top teams and big clubs don't get battered 4 times in a season at the half way point and use inconsistency as an excuse. We're coming up massively short against good sides, something is fundamentally wrong. Until the likes of Rush, KC and Wilkin acknowledge this and ditch this 'ah well, it happens' attitude, we're destined to slog it out with the likes of Salford, Hudds and Cas until we start acting like a big club.

As a nuetral I'd just like to say Wilkin was an embarrassment on Sunday - didn't bend his back st all yet he is the captain? And I see LMA got a lot of criticism but I thought he was one of your best players - the game might have been different if all the players had his enthusiasm.

Re: Despair? : Wed May 25, 2016 11:27 am
I'm afraid I seem to have given up. I didn't really notice it happening, but I've started doing something else on Friday nights and, to be honest, prefer watching the sky games starring the likes of Cas and Wire from a neutral perspective.

I haven't thrown my toys out the pram about it, its just happened gradually. Perhaps I'm just a fickle fan, but when Saddenend's posts started sounding like fact rather than fishing, then you know things are looking grim.
