With Long I think you have to factor in that he is as thick as two short planks, Gleeson was the most devious of the two and hence the club got rid. Phil Clarke would have been Savvy to what was going and has done nothing wrong directly but has an unbroken link to the situation.

Long was in the papers pretty regular when he was winning games with last min drop goals and picking trophies up for fun.

Obviously your referring to the betting scandal but what else was he actully in the paper for which he'd done wrong ?

I've not mentioned Phil Clarke by the way

Considering you claim to socialise with him I find it embarrassing you forgot about the whole Australia incident he was the instigator of? As for the "apart from" quote. You make it sound like he was involved in some sort of banter instead of front page news that every one was talking about in a negative light.

This whole thread is about Phil Clarke and what he has supposedly done when the truth is, he has done nothing wrong. We are just looking for a scape goat as to why our game is a million miles behind proper rugby and Phil Clarke is the latest one

Yes I do know Sean and I also know what happened on that tour also ( do you really know ? ).

I admit he was little wild back in the day but you claim he was in the papers more for the wrong reasons more often than Good.

Ok, you claim he was the instigator on the GB tour (I don't agree) and also the silly betting on saints to Lose. The also rumours and hearsay of other stuff in his time at Saints but I don't recall it being in papers.

However, I do recall him making the papers for winning man of steel award, 3 Lance Todd trophies , breaking points in a season super league records (twice).

He also was part of the team that won 5 challenge cups (Lance Todd 3 times), 4 super leagues and also a world Club championship. He also represented both England and Great Britain.

Yes I agree, he's more known for the off the field stuff

If Clarkes company has advised a player to break a contract, then the line that he has done nothing wrong does not hold.
